Project Summary

The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) contracted Eco Stoves Uganda to upgrade the kitchens in its barracks. The project was completed and it has been a success.

The project was implemented in the following barracks: Commandant Bombo, Kabamba, Kavera, Ruhengere, Singo, Kalama, Junior Command & staff collage Gadaffi, Nicoa Jinja, R.R.U Jinja, Olilim, Safad-katakana, Robwolodongo, Nakindye Barakacks, Kiseka, Buyala, Luzira, Buyala, Bihanga and Nakasongola.

The eco stoves have reduced the consumption of firewood by up to 70%. This has helped to conserve the forests and green vegetation in Uganda. The eco stoves have also reduced exposure to harmful smoke emissions by up to 90%. This has improved the air quality in the kitchens and reduced the risk of respiratory problems.

The MODVA community is very happy with the eco stoves. They have found them to be clean, efficient, and easy to use. The eco stoves have made cooking easier and more convenient, and they have also helped to improve the health of the community.

The MODVA is grateful to Eco Stoves for their work on this project. The eco stoves have been a valuable asset to the MODVA community, and they have helped to make the barracks a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable place to live and work.

Overall, this project is a win-win for the MODVA community and for the environment, and conserves the forests

Here are some of the benefits of the completed project:

This is a major project that is meant to benefit the MODVA community in many ways.

First, the eco stoves use 90% volcanic rocks and 10% charcoal dust as opposed to 100% charcoal usage. This will reduce the consumption of firewood thus saving trees. This is important because the MODVA has the biggest community among other government ministries, and the consumption of firewood as fuel is high.

This puts the existence of trees at stake. The eco stoves are more efficient than traditional stoves, so they will use Volcanic Rocks, with a solar system to cook the same amount of food. This will help to conserve the forests and green vegetation in Uganda.

Second, the eco stoves will reduce exposure to harmful smoke emissions. Traditional stoves produce a lot of smoke, which can be harmful to the health of the people who use them. The eco stoves are smoke, so they will improve the air quality in the kitchens and reduce the risk of respiratory problems.

Third, the eco stoves are cleaner and easier to use than traditional stoves. This will make it easier for the MODVA community to cook their food, and it will also reduce the amount of time and effort that they need to spend on cooking.
