The partnership between the  schools and Eco Stoves to install smart eco stove kitchens with inbuilt burners in the schools of Serena schools, Jinja College, Bwindi Ride for Women, Kihihi Primary School, Kibiro Salt Factory, Makindye SSS, Clesstine Primary school, Bukomero Training school, Love and care Primary school Entebbe, Premium Primary school, Karya Courts Hotel Fortpotal, Caritas, Nsambya cathedral, Katende senior Secondary school, Gloria Education center, Bell View Primary school, Namasuba Muslim School, Katosi Primary school and Watoto Ministries is a great initiative to improve the air quality in these schools and conserve the environment.

The installation of eco stoves has helped to reduce the consumption of firewood, cut down trees, and creation of clean and smoke-free food and nutrition kitchens in these schools.

Here are some of the benefits of the partnership:

  • Reduced consumption of firewood: Eco stoves use 90% volcanic rocks and 10% charcoal dust as opposed to 100% charcoal usage. This has helped to reduce the consumption of firewood by up to 90%. This has helped to conserve the forests and green vegetation in Uganda.
  • Reduced exposure to harmful smoke emissions: Eco stoves have also reduced exposure to harmful smoke emissions by up to 90%. This has improved the air quality in the kitchens and reduced the risk of respiratory problems.
  • Improved air quality: The cleaner air in the kitchens has also improved the health of the students and staff.
  • Conservation of the environment: The reduced consumption of firewood has helped to conserve the forests and green vegetation in Uganda. This is important for the environment and for the people who depend on the forests for their livelihoods. Are also easier to use and clean than traditional stoves, which can save schools time and labor costs.
  • The eco stoves are a good way to teach students about environmental sustainability and the importance of conserving natural resources.

An eco stove is a clean, efficient stove that uses volcanic rocks as fuel. It is designed to reduce charcoal and firewood consumption, as well as exposure to harmful smoke emissions. Eco stoves are a good alternative to traditional stoves, which can be very polluting.

The specific details of the project varied depending on the specific circumstances. For example, the number of eco stoves that are installed in each school will depend on the size of the school and the number of students.

Overall, the partnership between the Schools and Eco Stoves is a positive development that has benefited the environment, the economy, and the health of the people involved.
